A Long Road
Posted: 12-31-69

It's been a long road. A very long one.

Thankfully, I have not had to travel that road alone, given the great number of people I have met in this long journey.

1978 saw the premier of a damn good scifi show on TV- Battlestar Galactica, created and produced by Glen A. Larson. It lasted one season, with a not-well-received follow-up named Galactica 1980.

Fast forward twenty years later.

I met a fellow named Titon (I will only name these folks by internet handle unless it's one of the folks involved in the show) and he re-introduced me to my love for an old show.

From there, I created Colonial Fleets, a discussions BB for him to invite other people that were disgruntled with the workings of the SciFi Channel's BB.

Folks like ojai, OldWarDaggit, Muffit, Ray Grant and many others joined us along with some friends already there from the 3D Gladiators, like thomas7g.

Once we launched Fleets to it's own domain (it had been a part of the 3D Gladiators forums for a while), I turned it fully over to Titon and thought I'd retire from web stuff for a while to concentrate on 3d modeling.

Then another friend decided to call it quits on BattlestarGalactica.com- Michael Faries.

I was at work when I received a call from Richard Hatch asking if I'd webmaster his three sites for him. I accepted, and was the webmaster of BattlestarGalactica.com, RichardHatch.com and GreatWarofMagellan.com. Also during this time I met even more folks at other BG websites- TwoBrainedCylon, peternoble, both BGClub creators, the Fan Club creators and so on.

If I have not named you, it's because I don't have enough space to list everyone! But believe me, you are just as important as those named.

Due to personal reasons, I eventually gave up Richard's websites as well.

But the internet is an interesting thing- Friends made are friends never forgotten. The lure dragged me back, kicking and screaming.

After a bit of planning, I decided on doing my own Battlestar Galactica website, without the hassles of operating any BB's.

And here it is.

I dedicate this website to each and everyone of my friends who loved the same show I did and still do from more than 25 years ago.

Here's to you, guys and gals!
